This article is about the bar/restaurant Xkysyto in calle Virgen de Luján 18, in the district of Los Remedios (Seville, Spain). The same group has another restaurant with the same name in the district of El Arenal.
Style and interior design
Gastrobar Xkysyto opened in the famous Sevillian district of Los Remedios in May 2015. Since then it has created a lot of buzz and is at the moment one of the most talked about places for eating out in Seville (which is not bad considering the huge amount of bars and restaurants that you can find in Seville). Thanks to this success, they have thereafter opened another restaurant with the same name in the centre of Seville, in El Arenal (calle Arfe). This is one of the places you can visit when you visit Seville or go on Language Holiday.
The first things that strikes you when you walk over the threshold at Gastrobar Xkysyto, is the enormous attention they put in to detail in the interior design. There are various different and quite distinct zones inside the establishment. We find high chairs and tables, normal tables for sitting down, a big bar counter and even a vertical garden! This is a place where you can have tapas, a proper lunch or dinner at a table or a nice and a well-prepared drink.
The style of the food is "a new interpretation of Andalusian cooking" where we "take advantage of what the local area has to offer". The result are dishes with an Andalusian base but with very creative twists. They use high quality ingredients directly from the market and of course this translates into great tastes!
The food is prepared in an open kitchen, with big show windows so that the client can watch the dishes being cooked.
Some of the dishes
My favourite is definitely the Succulent Piglet (cochinillo) which is steam cooked during 18 hours in its own juices, absolutely delicious! Some of the other exciting dishes are: Japanese Style Gyozas with Duck, Chips with Carbonara Foam and Parmesan Cheese, Big Fried Prawns on a Skewer with sweat-and-sour sauce and a very nice risotto. One of the most ordered tapas dishes is actually the Magnum Foie Gras but personally I´m actually not too fond of it. It´s extremely popular though! Try one of these delicacies when you visit Seville or go on Language Holiday.
Wine List
Usually the wine offer is not too good at the bars and restaurants of Seville. I was even asked once if I´d like to have a Rioja or red wine (!!). But this is NOT the case at Gastrobar Xkysyto where they can offer you about 50 different types of wines from different regions in Spain. There are also many local wines (from Cádiz for example) for those who want to try out those. Gastrobar Xkysyto is a pleasure for wine lovers! To sum up, Gastrobar Xkysyto is a place that you definitely don´t want to miss when you visit Seville or go on Language Holiday!!
